Our calendar year is based on 32 weeks of instruction including classes, dress rehearsal, photo days and recital
This is an outline. Our annual calendar, schedule and faculty is subject to change at any point throughout the season. All other information will be posted and handed out as it becomes available. We encourage all students and parents to keep themselves informed on a daily basis.
We do our best to make sure we have the most current information is posted up at the studio, in student folders or sent by email. Do we have your current email address? All dancers should check folders and bulletin boards every time they come in to the studio.
September 2011
Saturday, September 10th - All classes begin. Fall Session begins.
Used Dance Shoe Sale @ Absolute Dance 10:00-1:00pm
Monday, September 12th – Used Dance Shoe Sale @ Absolute Dance 5-7pm

October 2011
Monday, October 3rd - Mandatory Festival & Competitive Annual Meeting 7:15-8:15pm
Saturday, October 8th to Monday, October 10th - Studio closed for Thanksgiving. Classes resume Tuesday, October 11th
November 2011
Friday, November 11th – Remembrance Day – Studio open. All classes as usual
Saturday November 19th - First blocking rehearsal for Cinderella at Absolute Dance from 1:15-3:30pm
Saturday November 26th - Second blocking rehearsal for Cinderella at Absolute Dance from 1:15-3:30pm
December 2011
Friday, December 2nd – Dress rehearsal for Cinderella @ Absolute Dance from 4:30-8:00pm
Sunday, December 4th – Cinderella Show Day @ The Wright Theatre (Mount Royal University), Run through 10:00am, Show #1 at 1:00pm & Show #2 at 4:00pm
Tuesday, December 13th to Monday, December 19th - Viewing week for ALL classes.
Monday, December 19th – last day of classes before the holiday break. Last day of Fall Session. Classes resume Saturday, January 7th 2012

Saturday, January 7th – All classes resume. Winter Session begins
Monday January 16th to Saturday January 21st - Used dance shoe sale at the studio
Monday January 23rd to Saturday January 28th – Bring a friend to class for FREE!
February 2012
Friday, February 17th to Monday, February 20th – Studio closed for the Family Day weekend. Classes resume Tuesday, February 21st.
Friday, February 24th – “Plies to Performance” at the studio. An evening of Ballet Repertoire performed by your ballerinas 6:30-8:30pm
March 2012
Friday, March 2nd – Competitive solo / duet dress rehearsal and photos at Absolute Dance 4:00-7:00pm
Saturday, March 3rd – Mandatory Festival & Competitive group dress rehearsal and photos at the Jack Singer rehearsal hall 9:00am-6:00pm
Saturday, March 24th to Sunday, April 8th – Studio closed for Spring Break.
Monday, March 26th to Friday, March 30th - March Break camps
April 2012
Saturday, March 24th to Sunday, April 8th – Studio closed for Spring Break.
Monday, April 23rd to Saturday, April 28th – Viewing week for ALL classes.
May 2012
Friday, May 18th to Monday May 21st– studio closed for May long weekend. Classes resume Tuesday, May 22nd.
Friday, May 20th to Sunday, May 22nd – Competition
Monday, May 28th to Saturday, June 2nd – Class pictures will be taken at the studio. ( Schedule TBA )

Friday, June 8th – Recital dress rehearsal at the Wright Theatre (Mount Royal University) - Specific schedule TBA
Saturday, June 9th - Last day of Winter session.
Sunday, June 10th – Year-end recital @ The Wright Theater (Mount Royal University)
Monday, June 11th - First day of Summer Session
Tuesday June 12th, 19th & 26th & Thursday June 14th, 21st & 28th – Technique & training classes. Mandatory for all Festival & Competitive Team Members
Wednesday June 13th, 20th & 27th – Hip Hop workshop classes. Mandatory for all Festival & Competitive Hip Hop dancers
Saturday June 16th OR Sunday June 17th - Calaway Park performance
July 2012
Friday July 21st - Last day of Summer Session.
Sunday July 22nd to Sunday August 24th - Studio closed for summer break
