Our calendar year is based on 32 weeks of instruction including classes, dress rehearsal, photo days and recital
This is an outline. Our annual calendar, schedule and faculty is subject to change at any point throughout the season. All other information will be posted and emailed home as it becomes available. We encourage all students and parents to keep themselves informed on a daily basis.
We do our best to make sure we have the most current information posted up at the studio and will email it home to you. Do we have your current email address?
September 2012
Saturday, September 8th - All classes begin. Fall Session begins.
Saturday, September 8th to Saturday September 29th – Used Dance Shoe Sale
Saturday, September 15th - Saturday Holiday Production rehearsal classes begin
Monday, September 24th to Saturday September 29th – Bring a friend to class for FREE!
Friday, September 28th - Annual Competition meeting 6:30-7:30pm. Mandatory for all parents of competitive dancers
October 2012
Friday, October 5th to Monday, October 8th - Studio closed for Thanksgiving. Classes resume Tuesday, October 9th
Saturday, October 20th - Hip Hop workshop with Mindy Conto
Wednesday, October 31st - Halloween! Studio is open and all classes run as usual. Students are welcome to wear their costumes if they are safe and do not inhibit movement.
November 2012
Saturday, November 10th - First blocking rehearsal for Holiday Production at Absolute Dance from 1:15-4:00pm
Saturday, November 17th - Second blocking rehearsal for Holiday Production at Absolute Dance from 1:15-4:00pm
Friday, November 23rd - Dress rehearsal for Holiday Production at Absolute Dance from 4:30-8:30pm. All competitive classes are cancelled this day due to rehearsal.
Sunday, November 25th - Holiday Production show day at the Wright Theatre, Mount Royal University. Run through at 10am and performance times are 1pm & 4pm
December 2012
Saturday, December 15th to Friday, December 21st - Viewing week for ALL classes.
Friday, December 21st – last day of classes before the holiday break. Last day of Fall Session. Classes resume Monday, January 7th 2013

Monday, January 7th – All classes resume. Winter Session begins
Monday January 7th to Thursday January 31st - Used dance shoe sale at the studio
Monday January 21st to Saturday January 26th – Bring a friend to class for FREE!
February 2013
Friday, February 15th to Monday, February 18th – Studio closed for the Family Day weekend. Classes resume Tuesday, February 21st.
Friday, February 22nd – “Plies to Performance” at the studio. An evening of Ballet Repertoire performed by your ballerinas 6:30-8:30pm
March 2013
Friday, March 1st – Competitive solo / duet dress rehearsal and photos at Absolute Dance 4:00-7:00pm
Saturday, March 2nd – Mandatory Festival & Competitive group dress rehearsal and photos at the Jack Singer rehearsal hall 9:00am-6:00pm
Sunday, March 24th to Sunday, April 7th – Studio closed for Spring Break. Classes resume Monday April 8th, 2013
Monday, March 25th to Friday, March 29th - March Break camps

Monday, April 22nd to Saturday, April 27th – Viewing week for ALL classes.

Friday, May 17th to Monday May 20th – studio closed for May long weekend. Classes resume Tuesday, May 21st.
Monday, May 27th to Saturday, June 1st – Class pictures will be taken at the studio. (Schedule TBA )
June 2013
Friday, June 7th – Recital dress rehearsal at the Wright Theatre (Mount Royal University) - Specific schedule TBA
Saturday, June 8th - Last day of Winter session.
Sunday, June 9th – Year-end recital @ The Wright Theater (Mount Royal University) 10am, 1pm, 4pm & 7pm shows.
Monday, June 10th - First day of Summer Session
Tuesday June 11th to Thursday June 27th – Technique & training classes. Mandatory for all Competitive Team Members
Wednesday June 12th to June 26th - Hip Hop workshop classes. Mandatory for all Competitive Hip Hop dancers.
July 2012
Saturday July 20th - Last day of Summer Session.
Sunday July 21st to Sunday August 11th - Studio closed for summer break
August 2012
Monday, August 12th to Friday, August 16th – Summer camps
Monday, August 19th to Friday, August 23rd – Summer camps
Monday, August 26th to Thursday August 29th – Technique Bootcamp from 4:30-7:30pm. Mandatory for all Festival & Competitive Team Members.
