Competitive Info

Being a competitive dancer at any level not only requires talent but also desire and discipline. It is a very rewarding experience that allows dancers to develop teamwork, life skills and lasting friendships with teachers and peers. Our competitive dance programs are for the more serious dancer and parent(s).

COMPETITIVE HIP HOP PROGRAMS

These are great programs that will enhance your Hip Hop dance vocabulary / style / technique and give dancers the opportunity to participate in the competitive dance world in a fun and exciting way. These classes are full year commitment from September to June. Dancers will learn and perfect creative pieces of choreography that they will perform at three competitions throughout the year as well as the year end recital. Dancers may also have the opportunity to perform at other venues & events throughout the season.

To be eligible for these programs dancers must attend an audition. Dancers are required to take a minimum of 3+ hrs of hip hop per week.

Dancers do not need to take Ballet or Jazz to participate in our Competitive Hip Hop program.

All Competitive Hip Hop team members are required to take our June training.

FULL TIME COMPETITIVE DANCERS

Our full time competitive dance training program is designed for the very serious and dedicated dancer and parent(s). The Director will decide which dancers are ready to compete and take on this challenge. Selection will be based on technical strengths, performance, flexibility and overall commitment.

Mini & Junior competitive students will be training 8+ hrs/week.

Pre inter competitive students will be training 10+ hrs/week.

Inter/Adv competitive students will be training 12+ hrs/week.

To be eligible for these programs dancers must attend an audition. Dancers are required to take a minimum of two Ballet, two Jazz, Acro Stretch & Strength and our Holiday Production class per week.

All full time competitive team members are required to take our June Training and August Technique Bootcamp.

Extra fees for costumes, choreography, competition, props and accessories are incurred throughout the dance season. Any extra props or accessories are not covered in the cost of the costume deposit. For further fee information as well as costume, competition and classes please call the studio and speak with the Director.

Competitive dancers may also have the opportunity to perform at various events and venues around the city throughout the season.

Competitive company auditions take place in May.  Please phone the studio to book your audition classes.
