Absolute Dance is excited to announce a new dance program for children aged 4-8years considered “slow-bloomers” with regard to their coordination. Moving Forward is a Ballet based class for children with mild to moderate coordination challenges, learning differences and is suitable for children with special needs.
Ideal for students presenting with:
-Developmental Delay, Learning Challenges, Sensory Processing Disorder, Developmental Coordination Disorder, mild Cerebral Palsy, Speech and Language Challenges, Down Syndrome
The purpose of this class is to provide students with an authentic ballet experience, successfully adapted to their physical and cognitive capabilities. Children will develop their postural strength, coordination, and self-confidence, while enjoying the social benefits of being in a group with their peers! Children will also learn some basic ballet theory, and work to develop rhythm, and sequential memory. An excellent way to compliment physical therapy!
Children must be independently mobile (braces and postural supports permitted), have sufficient attention capabilities (within reason), and have no disruptive behavioural issues, to attend class on their own.
This class will run on Saturdays from 12:00-12:45pm. The following session are available:
Winter - January 12th - February 9th, 2013 ($78.75)
Spring - April 13th - May 11th, 2013 ($78.75)
Summer - June 15th - July 20th, 2013 ($94.50)
The $31.50 registration fee will be applied at the time of registration. This is an annual fee that expires July 31st of every dance season.
