Full Year Programs



Jazz Technique:
This form of dance is characterized by its energy and variety. This class will focus on pure technique with a warm up, floor and core work, progressions and combinations.

Jazz Styles:
This class will explore several styles of Jazz including Lyrical, Street Jazz, Funk, Contemporary and Latin etc. Designed for the more serious dancer, it is mandatory for all competitive students to participate in this class.

Tap Technique: This class is designed to help with coordination, rhythm and timing. Focusing on intricate footwork and syncopation, this class will incorporate barre work, progressions and combinations.


 

Tap Styles: This class will explore several styles of Tap including Rhythm, Broadway, Soft Shoe and Hoofing. Designed for the more serious dancer, it is mandatory for all competitive students to participate in this class.

Ballet (Royal Academy of Dance): Ballet is the fundamental training that applies to all other dance forms. This class will develop and improve posture, alignment and technique. All competitive dancers and any students in grade 3 or higher must be enrolled in at least two classes per week.

Ballet Open, Demi-Pointe & Pointe: Dancers are encouraged to take these classes to further enhance vocabulary and technique. Available to students in Grade 4 or higher.

Musical Theatre: This class incorporates song & dance taken from some of the most well-known, popular Musicals and Broadway shows from past to present. Movement will be mostly Jazz based.

Teen (13 & up)/ Youth (8-12yrs) Open & Experienced: Offering Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern & Musical Theatre. Open level is 0-3 years experience. Experienced levels must have a minimum of 3 consecutive years of dance training.

 
STUDIO POLICIES: FULL YEAR CLASSES

Dance fees, registration fee and costume deposits are due at registration. Postdated cheques can be written for the 1st or 15th of each month. Payment can be made in full by debit or credit (one installment upon registration only). These fees will include 34 classes per year including instructional time, rehearsals and picture day. Registration will be complete once all payments have been received.

A student must give one month’ s notice before withdrawing from a class. After March 1st 2008 no refunds for withdrawal will be given, unless written medical documentation has been provided. A cancellation form must be filled out at the office (full month’ s notice).

Any requests for a receipt after the original has been provided will be charged a $5.00 admin fee.

To simplify bookkeeping, monthly tuition is calculated based on average holidays, picture day, performance dates, and 4 and 5 week months, and is therefore charged equally each month (34 classes/ year). There are no refunds for any missed classes. We do have a generous make up policy that allows students to make up as many classes as they have missed due to illnesses or other circumstances.

 

  * After October 1, 2007 costume deposits will not be refunded.

  * After March 1, 2008 no refunds for withdrawals will be given, unless written medical documentation has been provided.
