Studio Policies

REGISTRATION & TUITION POLICIES

Registration can be done in-person during our office hours or by phone (full payment only). Online registration is available only for sessional classes.

Registration is confirmed once Absolute Dance Studio has received signed registration forms, membership fees, costume fees, theatre fees and full payment for all classes.

MEMBERSHIP FEES

All students – membership fees are paid annually and are valid until July 31st of every dance season (non-refundable).

  • Per dancer: $35
THEATRE FEE

Applicable to any dancers participating in the recital and/or holiday production (non-refundable)

  • Recital theatre fee per dancer: $35
  • Holiday production theatre fee per dancer: $35.00
COSTUME FEES

Costume deposits are due at the time of registration (non-refundable after October 1st).  This deposit does not include fees for props or accessories (also non-refundable after October 1st).

  • 1 Recital Costume: $110
  • 1 Performance Costume: $198

PAYMENT OPTIONS FOR FULL YEAR CLASSES

MONTHLY:

Tuition may be paid monthly by post-dated cheques or pre-authorized credit card payments. All payments are run the first of each month.

The monthly breakdown is as follows: 

  • Day of registration: Registration fee + September fees
  • October: Costume fees + October fees
  • November: November fees
  • December: December fees
  • January: Theatre fee + January fees
  • February: February fees
  • March: March fees
  • April: April fees
  • May: May & June fees

Post-dated monthly cheques: can be written for the 1st of each month and are due at the time of registration. No refunds will be given for any withdrawals after December  1st.  Credit will only be available if a documented medical reason has been provided. A $26.25 fee will be charged for all NSF cheques. If you have more than two NSF cheques, remaining class fees must be paid in full by credit card, money order or certified cheque. NSF fees must be cleared immediately otherwise the dancer may not continue in their class(es).

Pre-authorized credit card payments: Should you choose monthly payments by credit card, each monthly transaction will be subject to an additional 4% service charge. No refunds will be given for any withdrawals after December 1st. Credit will only be available if a documented medical reason is provided. 

FULL PAYMENT:

Tuition can be paid in full at the time of registration by credit card, debit, cash or cheque which includes registration, theatre and costume fees.

STUDIO POLICIES

SESSIONAL CLASS  WITHDRAWAL POLICY:

  • Annual membership fees, all theatre fees and costume fees are non-refundable.  Sessional classes are non-refundable,  unless medical documentation is provided.  A $53.50 administration fee will be charged.  A credit for the remaining amount will be applied to your account and expires at the end of the season.  Credits must be used within the same dance season by the same student/family. No credits will be given once the session has begun.

CAMP WITHDRAWAL POLICY:

  • Summer Camps are non-refundable,  unless medical documentation is provided.  A $53.50 administration fee will be charged.
    A credit for the remaining amount will be applied to your account and expires at the end of the season. Credits must be used within the same dance season by the same student/family. No credits will be given once the camp has begun. 

FULL YEAR CLASSES WITHDRAWAL POLICY:

  • Annual membership fees, all theatre fees and costume fees are non-refundable.
  • A parent/guardian must give notice in writing when withdrawing from a class.
  • No class changes can be made after Oct. 1st.
  • Any adjustments made to a student’s schedule must be approved by an Absolute Dance team member and is subject to availability.
  • Our cancellation policy for full year programs is one month. The following month(s) will be returned. No refunds will be given after December 1st. Credit only for any medical documentation provided.

ADMINISTRATIVE POLICIES:

  • Dancers must be the age of the class by the class start date.  Exceptions are not made. 
  • There will be no refunds for missed classes.
  • Absolute Dance reserves the right to cancel or combine any classes.  The schedule and instructors are subject to change at any point throughout the dance season, without notice. 
  • Competition entry fees and choreography fees are non-refundable. 
  • It is mandatory that parents/guardians sign the insurance/liability waiver. Dancers will not be permitted to participate without the signed waiver.
  • Credits expire at the end of each dance year.
  • Drop in classes are not offered.  
  • All private lessons must be paid in advance at the time of booking. 24-hour notice is required for all private lesson cancellations.
  • Pre-authorized credit payments are subject to an additional 4% service fee / month. Authorization form is collected at registration. 
  • A $26.25 fee will be charged for all NSF cheques. If you have more than two NSF cheques, remaining class fees must be paid in full by credit card, money order or certified cheque.
  • Any outstanding invoices will result in a student not being able to participate in class, and a 10% late fee will apply
  • Any request for a receipt after the original has been provided will be charged a $5.25 administration fee.
  • Dress regulations will be enforced at all levels for all  classes – this includes dance clothes, shoes and grooming (hair).  Jewelry is not permitted.
